The Countdown Continues

Well, I am still here in America!

I was supposed to leave yesterday but have decided to stay another week before leaving. My health is excellent.  However, week before last, I was still dealing with the insomnia that plagued me while I was sick. I have started sleeping normal again, but my family and friends have convinced me to spend another week resting before I put myself through jet lag–and then comes all the catch up work.

In the mean time, my friend Lisa has boarded the aircraft, made the journey, and landed safely in Nairobi. She has been planning to come visit me since last year, and thanks to my wonderful boss (who is at the airport picking her up as we speak) she will be enjoying her first week in Africa without me. Good news is we will have four or five together after that, so no worries. I know all the kids will keep her busy until I get there!

I should be leaving on the 26th and arriving in Kitale on the 28th.

It was so good to see you when you visited our church in Valera. I loved the presentation and it gave a very good view of the conditions these children face every day. We take so many things for granted until we are faced with such poverty that exists in the world. Poverty in physical and spiritual needs. I’m so inpressed that you are as they say “chompin at the bit” to get on the plane and head “home”. No need to be torn, you have two homes. lol God Bless you for the work you are doing and the spiritual guidance you are providing along with medical.

Very wise of you to take another week to rest. Your immune system needs to be in top notch condition. I take “ImmunoPerfect” by NutraPerfect. It is herbs to help strengthen the immune system. You could google it.

Thank’s Rebecca. If it where up to me, I would have never left Africa, so you can thank the people around me for making wise decisions. I look back and am glad they were there to forced me to come home.

Glad to see you so rested and happy. You have chosen a hard but ulitmately rewarding life-work for this period of your life. This time, though, pace yourself so you don’t get so down so quickly.

God bless you and please keep all of us folks that can’t/won’t be going over with you up to date on what is happening.

Thank you, I will definitely pace myself this time. I figure my first week there will be put aside as time for me to move into my house, restock my pantry, and get over jet lag. Then I will go back to work.

    Hi Elizabeth,
I know you’re looking forward to getting back “home” to Mattaw. Just know that we at Valera are praying for you and Lisa as you minister there. Come see us next time you are back in the states!
    Godspeed,
    Michelle
