A Big thank you to Knickerbocker Community Church for their hospitality this week. I greatly enjoyed sharing with you all what I have seen over the past year.

Fundraising is going well, and people have been very generous, however, I will need to be home at least another month before I am financially where I need to be to return to Africa.

Besides spending time at churches here in America, I have some updates from Africa:

In the Nandi Hills, 13 of the pastors I met will be going through the BTCP curriculum -studying God’s Word from cover to cover. We will work with them for 3 years. This is very exciting news for me. They had expressed their interest, but seeing things develop shows they are truly committed to start a class.

My ladies group in the market is still meeting in my absence. They are all doing well and learning about the Word thanks to one of my African Sisters in Christ who is teaching them in my absence.

My other classes seem to be doing well, but they are ready for me to return.

Hi everyone! I am felling much better now. Thank you for your prayers.

I spent yesterday having lunch with my next door neighbor. She attended the same university as me, went to the church across the street from mine, and lived in the town next to me, but we never met until we were living across the street from each other in Africa. We had a good time talking about how much we miss Kitale. She will be flying home to Africa next week.

After this, I had a wonderful time with Eldorado’s Backyard Bible Club. I had heard a lot about them from Jim and Melony Roche, so it was a blessing to finally spend some time with these kids. I don’t know how many of them come from Christian families, but it was a joy to see them learning about Christ, memorizing scripture, and having fun.

Well, I had planned to have pictures up of my family meeting me in Dallas, pictures of all my friends, and stories of ministry happening in Texas…but unfortunately things have not gone as planned. About an hour before boarding my flight, I started getting sick and I have been sick for the last four days. After coming home to San Angelo, and spending two days with no relief, I finally gave in and spent the whole day at the doctor’s office. They don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I am pretty sure it is typhoid.

Point being, I am home safe. I am sorry for my lack of communication! I am very frustrated right now and very behind in my schedule, but with God all things are possible, and I trust that I will be back on my feet in His timing.

I asked these ladies to hold up their books so I could take a picture for you all. These Foundation Course books were not given to them for free. They purchased them with their own hard work. You can tell a student is truly committed when they buy their own books instead of asking for them, fill them out independently, and readily teach what they have learned to other women at their home church.

These sweet ladies have shown up to class each week with a huge thermos of tea and homemade bread for their teachers. I have learned there is no need for packing lunch when going to Kaptama. These people won’t let you leave without sharing what they have.

Only five days left until I am home bound! My students and I have been studying proper use of the chalk board over this past week. I don’t know whether to liken our last week of class to practice or military drills, but I have never seen a group of students working so hard. I hope to have them well seasoned before I leave. This way, they can continue their evaluations without me. It has been quite a bit of work, and I am running desperately low on chalk, but my class has done awesome, and they all have big smiles on their faces.
